Thirteen is a Lucky Number, After All!

Hello everyone,

We normally think of 13 as an unlucky number, but it won’t be bad luck this Sunday, June 13th.

From 1-3 p.m. we will have 13 wines for under $13 available for tasting. Many of these wines are new to Grapes and Tases and the rest are wines that normally don’t get the attention that they deserve. For just $5, try all 13 with cheese and crackers. If you like any of the wines, you can purchase them at special prices available only on the 13th.

On another note, hard to believe it’s mid-June already and Father’s Day is almost here, isn’t it? We can make your Father’s Day shopping much easier with our newly expanded selection of premium cigars. Treat dad to a fine stogie and Port or beer.

And, for a really special gift, sign dad up for our Cigar, Wine, Beer and Food Tasting being held Wednesday, June 16 at Galioto’s Twelve21 in Cedarburg. We’ll be matching cigars, beverages and small plates from Galioto’s for a tasting event you don’t want to miss.

Mom’s and others are welcome too, as we will have an alternative selection of cigars for those who like light, fun, and flavored smokes. For more info, see our events calendar, call 262-376-1200, write us at info@grapesandtastes.com, or stop in this weekend.

To reward you for making it through this message, we offer another trivia question. The first 10 correct answers get a free bottle of wine!

Here it is (we dare you to try to answer without using Google!):

In what country is the world’s most southern wine region located? Send your answer to info@grapesandtastes.com.

Cheers!

June Events – Something For Everyone

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. We sure did, as we finally had a couple of days off and out of the store. Special thanks to Dawn for covering things so well for us!

We’re really looking forward to June, with all the cool events that we have planned and are participating in. Look for lots of info and hype as the events come up because we’ve worked hard to come up with something for everybody, as you can see:

For those who like experimenting with wine and food pairings, sign up for our Foodie Wine Tasting on June 9. Author and wine expert Jaclyn Stuart will be here with her new book and six of her wines, which we’ve paired with some unusual foods to help bring lots of flavors out. -click here for more info-

If you’re looking for some great summer wines, or buying on a budget, or just love a cheap thrill, try 13 wines for under $13 on June 13th – yes, try 13 wines, and for only $5.

And, if you’re a cigar smoker, or would like to find out what all the cigar fuss is about, join us on June 16th at Galioto’s Twelve21 in Cedarburg. Get tastes of three cigars, plus cigar-friendly wine, beer and food. We’ll have two sets of cigars to choose from – traditional mild/medium/full-bodied, or fun and flavored. -click here for more info-

Chocolate lovers will want to attend our Stone’s Throw Wine and Chocolate Tasting on June 23rd. Besides making some great, interesting wines, Stones Throw produces their own FANTASTIC Chocolate Sauce and we’re gonna pour it all over a bunch of foods and enjoy them with six different wines. Better hurry, we already have people signed up for this one!

Whew, that’s a lot of exciting – and different – stuff we have planned. Like we said, something for everybody, so we’re sure to see you soon! Watch for Evites and get more info on the Calendar and Events page of the website.

BTW – have ideas for other wine events? We’re all ears. Add a comment with a suggestion for us and get a free glass of wine next time you come in. AND – if we use your idea, you get to attend the event FREE!

Cheers!

Finally, we’ve started the sign up for our first Wine Tasting and Food Pairing, to be held Wednesday, February 10 at 7:00 pm at Vintage Cafe in Downtown Cedarburg. As the new operator at Vintage Cafe, Chef Deb is excited to show Grapes and Tastes customers what Vintage Cafe is all about. The $15 fee includes wines, food, a souvenir glass, and discount purchase coupon. Sign up soon as the spots are filling up quickly.

Also, don’t forget to show your support (if you haven’t already) as we pursue the Class B license and zoning to allow us to serve glasses of wine and offer more expanded tasting in the store. Here’s the link to the petition: Support Grapes and Tastes!
